Memory care connects mind, body, heart

Tranquility House at Rolla Presbyterian Manor offers a dedicated memory care neighborhood, providing services and compassion for the ever-changing needs of seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. We provide specialty programs designed to engage the mind and provide purpose, as well as plenty of social opportunities for residents and their loved one.

Memory Care at Rolla Presbyterian Manor recognizes that every resident is different. With 24-hour staffing and individually tailored plans for care, we are able to focus on wellness in all its aspects.

In addition to engaging the mind with stimulating activities, our skilled staff is here to promote physical and emotional well-being, all in a comfortable, nurturing environment.

Judy VanKirk, a niece of resident Betty Rosenburg, has seen how the benefits of memory care has benefited her aunt firsthand.

“She’s deteriorating mentally. I think they take really good care of her and they’ve been really good about communicating. She participates in the activities to a degree. They’ve started more activities like coloring and games people with Alzheimer’s can play. I’m really tickled to see that because Betty’s always been a game-player and wants to do things. If not, she feels helpless. I think she’s happy there,” said Judy.

Betty has been living in memory care for about two years. She started out in the cottages about five years ago.

“She chose Rolla Presbyterian Manor. After her husband passed away, she, my sister and my sister-in-law went around Rolla looking at different places. She actually chose the Presbyterian Manor because of the cottages. As things deteriorated, she would already know the community and move as needed,” said Judy.
